Summary

The formost empowerment, tis the refuge, ¦¦

the lineage, in the mind; that manner, just so, and, tis the quality of arising, |

the mutually beneficial, the void essence skillful means, ¦¦

the prowess of the ripening to perfection awakened consciousness, also. || 10.1 ||

Resolute Aspiration's First Separation Characteristic Distinction (1)

Arising, non arising, ‸ taking in particular, the graspable world, ¦

from a friend perceived, ‸ from one's self nature, the illusion also. |

The unwavering inexhaustabile, ‸ being before the eyes, tis notlike that also inexhaustabile. ¦

The proclamation established rule, ‸ and tis barely this, and the little glance of the eye also. || 10.2 ||


Kārikā Tṛtīyaḥ

Resolute Aspiration's First Separation Characteristic Distinction (2)

Shall be a give and take, the thrown about, ˰ the not much thrown about, by counter arguments, ¦

the deficient, the most lofty, ˰ the frenetic moving around, the calm abiding also, |

the enjoined, the disenjoined, ˰ the completely supporting, the completely unsupporting also, ¦

tis, very much, the entering, ˰ the endurance, and the resolute aspiration. || 10.3 ||

Kārikā Caturthaḥ

Upon The Resolute Aspiration's Hindurance

To mindless action in abundance, ¦

to spiritual sloth, is the yoga wandering to and fro. |

A bad friend, is the charming lethargy. ¦

Not wisely, is the mindless one performing. || 10.4 ||


Kārikā Pañcamaḥ

Upon The Resolute Aspiration's Hindurance (2)

A lack of mindfulness, little being learned also, ¦

the learning's recollection, tis little the contentment. |

The contentment's foundation longing for also, ¦

that manner, tis familiarity the consideration. || 10.5 ||


Kārikā Ṣaṣthaḥ

Upon The Resolute Aspiration's Hindurance (3)

Lethargy, in this manner, tis an excitation's ¦

obscuration; also, moreover, tis an unsuitableness, |

a lack of preparation; and shall increase realizing ¦

the resolute aspiration's imperilment. || 10.6 ||

Kārikā Saptamaḥ

Upon The Resolute Aspiration, In A Well Praised Merit

Religious merit, tis for giving greatness to regrettable behaviour. ¦

Mental satisfaction, tis the contented tranquility, a great thing. |

The imperishabile consequence of action, ˰ the stability also, ¦

for the characteristic conducive to, tis that manner. || 10.7 ||


Kārikā Aṣṭamaḥ

Upon The Resolute Aspiration, In A Well Praised Merit (2)

The dharma's clear understanding, and then, ¦

tis for self and other a path perfected, the very highest. |

A rapid insight, are these two, indeed. ¦

Tis from the benefit of a resolute aspiration. || 10.8 ||


Kārikā Navamaḥ

Upon The Resolute Aspiration, In A Well Praised Merit (3)

Of these lustful persons, is she, with horse like similarity. ¦

Tis the tortoise resembling, of these samādhi practioners. |

A servant of burdens uppermost, of these self seeking persons, tis she. ¦

Tis a sovereign resembling, of those altruistic ones. || 10.9 ||


Kārikā Daśamaḥ

Upon The Resolute Aspiration, In A Well Praised Merit (4)

That manner, the empassioned one who stands immovable, ˰ is a self and other person feasible means; t'was proclaimed: ¦

“the essence shall increase wisdom, ˰ constantly, with a resolute aspiration, tis for increasing virtue.” |

In the Mahāyāna, of that, ˰ honouring here, having considered, tis for highest aim. ¦

To a high degree, in that, the wise one, ˰ always here, for her, just so, ought resist. || 10.10 ||


Kārikā Ekādaśā

Upon The Resolute Aspiration, In A Well Praised Merit (5)
Upon The Resolute Aspiration's Refusal of Laxity, These Ślokas

These human beings, ˰ for perfect knowledge, ¦

they strongly grasp, continuing every moment. |

Would be most unfathomable, from whence, the living being, ¦

is for mental indifference; not from it, could one bring honour. || 10.11 ||

Upon A Resolute Aspiration Virtue's Distinction

Which manner, virtue goes forth; ¦

for the greatest desire, tis food giving. |

Not indeed, one's self, it is feeding. ¦

That manner, tis the virtue a great rising up. || 10.12 ||


Kārikā Trayodaśā

Upon A Resolute Aspiration Virtue's Distinction (2)

The sūtra, tis said, is grasped, from dharma, ¦

from highest method's fundament shown. |

Not indeed, from a self·method's fundamental nature, from the dharma (thereof), ¦

from being shown, tis it fully grasped on all sides. || 10.13 ||


Upon A Resolute Aspiration's Fruition Firmly Grasped

Kārikā Caturdaśā

Upon A Resolute Aspiration's Fruition Firmly Grasped

So, in an honourable ones's expedient means, in the great flood of dharma, ¦

shall be knowing, always, the possessing of wisdom, (tis) for great confidence. |

The honourable one, constantly auspicious, thence for growth, ¦

goes onward, with attributes incomparable, to the great core essentialness also. || 10.14 ||
