Kārikā Prathamā

The kalpa̍, shall be a̍sa̩ṅkhyeya̍ ̇ble, ni̩ryāta̍ ̇ng; ¦

indeed, for (an) adhi̩mukti̍, (tis) ever vi̩vardha̍ya ̇ng. |

The sa̩mpūrṇa̍, (tis) with these kuśa̩la ̇s, with these dharma̍ ̇s. ¦

The sā̩gara̍, (tis) with vā̩ri̍ ̇s, such manne̩r. || 14.1 ||

Kārikā Dvitīyā

In like manne̍r, (t'was) sa̩mbhṛta̍ ̇ng (a) sa̩mbhāra̍. ¦

Verily, ādi̩śuddha̍, (is) the jina̩ ā̩tma̍ ja. |

The su̍vi̩jña̍, the kalpa̩ citta̍ also̩, ¦

in bhāva̩nā̍, (tis) pra̩yujya̍te ̇d. || 14.2 ||

Citta Upadiṣṭā

Kārikā Tṛtīyā

In the dharma̩ srota̍s, from these buddhi̍ ̇s, ¦

(tis) to ava̩vāda̍, (one) la̩bha̍te ̇s, at tha̩t time. |

For the vi̩pula̍, (tis) for śama̩tha̍ jñāna̩ ̇ng ¦

va̍ipulya̩ gama̍na ̇ng, inde̩ed. || 14.3 ||

Kārikā Caturthā

From tha̎t, in the sūtra̩ ā̩dika̍, in the dharma̍, ¦

o̩ne, (is) in (an) adva̍ya̩ a̩rtha̍ vi̩bhāva̍ka ̇ng. |

In the sūtra̍ ̇s a̍di̩nāma̍n, from bandhī̩ya̍ ̇ng, ¦

to ci̩tta̍, from the pra̩tha̍ma̩, (is) yati̍. || 14.4 ||

Kārikā Pañcamā

The̩nce, in these pada̍ ̇s of pra̩bheda̍, ¦

(it) ought vi̩care̍t, from (an) anu̩pūrva̍. |

Ought one vi̩cāra̍yet, therefo̩re, for these artha̍ ̇s ; a̩nd, ¦

the pratyā̍tma̩n, funda̍mentally also̩, (is) i̍t. || 14.5 ||

Kārikā Ṣaṣthā

Having ava̩dhṛtya̍ ̇d, also̩, for the̍m, these artha̍s, ¦

in the dha̩rma̍, ought one be sa̩ṅkala̍ye̩t ̇d, aga̍in. |

The̩nce, ought he kuryā̍t, unto samā̩śāsti̍; ¦

therefo̩re, for the artha̍ a̍dhi̩gama̍, (is) he̩. || 14.6 ||

Manaskāra Upadiṣṭā

Kārikā Saptamā

One ought e̍ṣe̩ta, ought pra̍tya̩ve̍kṣe̩ta, ¦

the mana̍s, with these jalpa̍ ̇s, from pra̩bandha̍ ̇ng, |

with ni̩rjalpa̍ ̇ble e̍ka̩ rasa̍ ̇s, also̩ thereto̍. ¦

With these mana̩skāra̍ ̇s, ought one vi̩cāra̍yet. || 14.7 ||

Kārikā Aṣṭhamā

Shall be jñeya̍ ̇d, the śama̩tha mārga̍, (tis) of tha̩t; ¦

the dharma̩ ̇s nāma̍, also̩, (is) piṇḍi̍ta ̇d. |

Shall be jñeya̍ ̇d, the vi̩paśya̍nā̩, (is) the mārga̍; ¦

thus so̩, of these artha̍ ̇s, (tis) the vi̩cāra̍ṇā̩. || 14.8 ||

Kārikā Navamā

The yuga̩naddha̍, also, shall't be vi̩jñe̍ya ̇d. ¦

The mārga̍ (is), for tha̩t, for the piṇḍi̍ta̩ ̇ng, once aga̍in. |

The līna̍ ̇ng, of citta̍, ought one gṛhṇī̩yā̍t, ¦

to be u̩ddhata̍ ̇d, causing one to be śama̩ye̍t, once mo̩re. || 14.9 ||

Kārikā Dashamā

For śama̍ prā̩pta̍, one ought upe̩kṣe̍ta, ¦

upo͈n tha̎t, no̩t in the ā̩lamba̍na, once mo̩re. |

By sā̩tatya̍, mo̩reove̍r, having sa̩tkṛtya̍ ̇d, ¦

in sarva̩s, (it) might be caused to yoja̍ye̩t, aga̍in. || 14.10 ||

Upāya Upadiṣṭa

Kārikā Ekadasā

Having ni̍badhya̩ ̇d, in the ā̩lamba̍na̩, the citta̍, ¦

that, to pra̩vedha̍, (it) not ought vi̩kṣipe̍t. |

Havin ava̩gamya̍ ̇d, quickly, to vi̩kṣepa̍, ¦

in tha͈t, (one) ought (it) pra̍ti̩hare̍t, aga̩in. || 14.11 ||

Kārikā Dvādasā

For e̍ve̩ry ātma̍n, ought one sa̩ṅkṣipe̍t ci̩tta̍; ¦

upwa̍rds, upwa̩rds, the buddhi̍māt. |

From tha̍t also̩, ought rama̍ye̩t the citta̍, ¦

in sa̩mādhi̍, from the guṇa̩'s darśa̍na. || 14.12 ||

Kārikā Trayodaśā

For a̩rati̍ ought be made śa̩ma̍yet, i̩n tha̎t, ¦

from the vi̩kṣepa̍ of a doṣa̩ ̇s darśa̍na. |

The abhi̩dhyā̍, for these dau̩rmana̍s ā̩di̍, ¦

for these vyu̩tthi̍ta̩, ought be made śama̍yet, that manne̩r. || 14.13 ||

Kārikā Caturdasā

From tha̩t also̍, for those with a̩bhi̍sa̩ṃskāra̍ ̇ng, ¦

in citta̍, for (a) sva̩rasa̍ vāhi̩tā̍ ̇ng, |

ought (that one) la̍bhe̩t, those ā̍na̩bhi̍sa̩ṃskāra̍ ̇s; ¦

thence, from a̩bhyāsa̍, aga̩in, (is) yati̍. || 14.14 ||

Gata Artham

Kārikā Pañcadaśā

From tha͈t, o̍ne (is), to tanu̩ kā̍, having la̩bdhvā̍ ̇d, ¦

for the pra̩śrabdhi̍, of both kāya̩ (and) ceta̍s. |

For shall be vi̩jñeya̍ ̇d, one (is a) mana̩skāra̍. ¦

A̩gai̍n, for the̩m, o̍ne is vi̩vardha̍ya ̇ng. || 14.15 ||

Kārikā Ṣoḍaśā

For vṛddhi̩ dūra̍, by gama̩tva̍, ¦

to the ma̩ulī̍, o̩ne labha̍te̩ ̇s, for sthiti̍. |

For he̩r, (tis) śodha̍yat ̇ng, the abhi̩jñā, for artha̍. ¦

One e̩ti̍ ̇s (so), for karma̩ṇya̍tā, for pa̩rā̍. || 14.16 ||

Kārikā Saptadaśā

In dhyā̍na, the abhi̩jñā̍, from a̍bhini̩rhāra̍, ¦

to the loka̩ of dhātu̍ ̇s, i̩t ga̍ccha̩ti ̇s. |

Pūjā̍, for a̍rtha̩, shall be of these a̍pra̩meya̍ ̇s; ¦

in being buddha̩ ̇d, (tis) for the śra̍vaṇa̩ also̍. || 14.17 ||

Kārikā Aṣṭādaśā

Unto these a̍pra̩meya̍, having u̩pāsya̍ ̇d, that thi̩s, ¦

for these buddha̍ ̇d, by ka̩lpa̍ ̇s, (shall be) with these a̩meya̍ ̇s ga̩ ̇ing. |

To karma̍ṇya̩tā̍, to parā̩, doth one eti̍, ¦

from ceta̍s, so a̩lso, from u̍pā̩sa̍na. || 14.18 ||

Pañca Śuddha Anuśaṃsa

Kārikā Navadaśā

The̍nce, to these anu̩śaṃsa̍, (one) la̩bha̍te ̇s; ¦

with these pañca̩ śuddha̍, one (is), to those pūrva̩·ga̍. |

The vi̩śuddhi̍ of bhāja̩na̍tva, also̩, ¦

from tha̍t, one yā̩ti̍ ̇s, to the niru̩ttara̍. || 14.19 ||

Kārikā Viṃśā

In the kṛtsna̍ ā̍di, (a) svalpa̩ kāya̍, inde̩ed, ¦

drava̍te ̇s, of tha̩t, pra̍ti̩kṣaṇa̍ ̇ng. |

Ā̩pūrya̍te ̇d, also, ˰ with pra̩śrabdhi̍, ¦

(is) the kāya̩ citta̍, from sa̩manta̍. || 14.20 ||

Kārikā Ekaviṃśā

For (an) a̍pari̩cchinna̍ ̇d, most ā̩bhāsa̍ ̇ng, ¦

of these dharma̩ ̇s, (doth one) vetti̍, tho̩rou̍ghly. |

For these a̍kalpi̩ta̍ ̇d, in sa̩ṃśuddhi̍, ¦

ni̩mitta̍ ̇s, (doth one) pra̩paśya̍ti. || 14.21 ||

Kārikā Dvāviṃśā

In pra̩pūri̍, and in vi̩śuddhi̍ also, ¦

of the dharma̩ ̇s kāya̍, in every ma̩nner, |

karo̍ti ̇s, consta̩ntly, the dhīma̍t; ¦

thus, for the hetu̩ pa̍ri̩graha̍ ̇ng. || 14.22 ||

Mano, Jalpāt

Kārikā Trayoviṃśā

From tha͈t, (tis) also̍ tha̍t one, that manne̩r, (a) bhūta̍, ¦

(a) bodhi̩sattva̍, (a) samā̩hita̍. |

Mana̍s, from jalpa̍, for these vini̩rmukta̍ ̇s, ¦

for those sarva̩ a̩rtha̍ ̇s, doth not pra̩paśya̍ti. || 14.23 ||

Kārikā Caturviṃśā

Of the dharma̩ loka̍, for vṛddhi̩ artha̍, ¦

vīrya̍ ā̩ra̍bhate̩ ̇s, thoro̍ghly. |

With the dharma̩ ā̩loka̍ vi̩vṛddhi̍, also̩, ¦

in citta̩ mātra̍, (it) ava̩tiṣṭha̍te ̇s. || 14.24 ||

Kārikā Pañcaviṃśā

The sarva̩ a̩rtha̍ prati̩bhāsa̍tva, ¦

from tha̩t, in ci̍tta, pra̩paśya̍ti ̇s. |

The pra̩hīna̍, the grā̩hya̍ vi̩kṣepa̍, ¦

the̍n, of tha̩t, bhava̍ti ̇s thi̩s. || 14.25 ||

Kārikā Ṣaḍviṃśā

Thereupo̩n, the grāha̍ka vi̩kṣepa̍, ¦

the ke̩vala̍, of that, (is) ava̩śiṣya̍te ̇ng. |

For (an) āna̩ntarya̍ samā̩dhi, a̍lso, ¦

(doth) spṛśa̍ti, dire̩ctly, the̍n, agai̩n. || 14.26 ||

Grāhaka Vikṣepaḥ

Kārikā Saptaviṃśā

From whi̩ch, the grāha̍ka vi̩kṣepa̍ ̇ng, ¦

hīya̍te ̇d, in this ma̩nner, a̍na̩ntara̍. |

Jñeyā̍ni, these uṣma̩ gata̍ ̇ng ā̍di̩; ¦

for the̩se, indee̍d, such ma̩nner, (are) for krama̍ ̇s. || 14.27 ||

Nirvedha Bhāgīyāni

Kārikā Aṣṭāviṃśā

To dvaya̩ grāha̍ ̇ng visa̩ṃyukta̍ ̇d, ¦

to the loka̩ u̩ttara̍, to the anu̩ttara̍, |

to the nirvi̩ka̍lpa, to mala̩ a̩peta̍ ̇d, ¦

to jñāna̍, one la̍bha̩te ̇s, once mo̍re. || 14.28 ||

Gata Artha Ślokaḥ

Kārikā Navaviṃśā

Ti̩s of tha̍t, ‐ the ā̍śraya̩ pa̍rā̩vṛtti̍ ‐ , ¦

pratha̍mā̩, (a) bhūmi̍ tis iṣya̩te̍ ̇d. |

Shall be with these a̩meya̍ ̇s, also̩, of tha̍t; does it, by these kalpa̍ ̇s, ¦

to suvi̩śuddhi̍, ni̩gaccha̍ti. || 14.29 ||

Ātma Samacittatām

Kārikā Triṃśā

From the dharma̩ ̇s dhātu̍, also̩ to sama̍tā, ¦

having prati̩vidhya̍ ̇d agai̩n; the̍n, |

in sarva̩ these sattva̍ ̇s, one la̩bhate̍ ̇s, ¦

consta̩ntly, unto the ātma̍'s sama̩citta̍tā. || 14.30 ||

Kārikā Ekatriṃśā

In ni̩rātma̍tā, ˰ in the duḥkha̩ a̩rtha̍, ¦

in kṛtya̍, these (are) ni̩ḥpra̍ti̩karma̍; |

in sattva̍ ̇s, (tis) sama̩citto̍, tha̩t; ¦

which ma̍nner, in ano̍ther, also̩, (are) these jina̍ ā̍tma̩ jā̍. || 14.31 ||

Ātma Traidhātuka

Kārikā Dvātriṃśā

Unto the trai̩dhātu̍ka̩ ̇s of (an) ā̩tma̍'s sa̩ṃskāra̍, ¦

from the a̩bhūta̍ ̇ng pari̩kalpa̍, |

by jñāna̍, by suvi̩śuddha̍, ¦

by the a̩dvaya̍ a̍rtha̩, (doth one) pa̍śyati̩. || 14.32 ||

Darśana Mārgaḥ

Kārikā Trayastriṃśā

So also̍, of a̩bhāva̍, for bhā̩va also̍, ¦

for the vi̩mukta̍ ̇d, by these dṛṣṭi̩ hāyi̍n ̇ng, |

having labdhvā̩ ̇d, the darśa̍na̩ mārgo̍, ve̩rily, ¦

the̍n, by tha̍t, tis ni̩rucya̍te ̇d. || 14.33 ||

Kārikā Catustriṃśā

For a̍bhāva̩ śūnya̍tā̩, having jñātvā̍ ̇d; ¦

that manne̩r, of bhāva̍, (tis) for śūnya̩tā̍. |

By pra̍kṛtī̩, for śūnya̍tā̩, having jñātvā̍ ̇d, ¦

(a) śūnya̩ jña̍, just so̩, (tis) kathya̍te ̇d. || 14.34 ||

Kārikā Pañcatriṃśā

The a̍ni̩mitta̍ ̇s pa̩da̍, shall be jñe̩ya̍ ̇d, ¦

of these vi̩kalpa̍ ̇s also, (tis) the sa̩ṅkṣaya̍. |

The a̩bhūta̍ pari̩kalpa̍, (is) also̩, ¦

therefo̍re, of (an) a̩pra̍ṇi̩hita̍, indee̩d. || 14.35 ||

Kārikā Ṣaṭtriṃśā

By tha͈t, by the da̍rśana̩ mārga̍, ¦

all toge̩ther, (tis one) lābha̍ ̇ng the̩n, the mata̍, |

of a̍ll these, of these bodhi̩ pakṣā̍'s, ¦

of these vi̩citrā̍'s, within the jina̩ ā̩tma̍ je̩. || 14.36 ||

Darśana Mārga Lābhina

Kārikā Saptatriṃśā

The sa̍ṃskāra̩ ̇s mātra̍, for (a) ja̩ga̍t, having e̩tya̍ ̇d by bu̩ddhi̍, ¦

(tis) for ni̩rātma̍ka̩; the duḥkha̍ ̇s vi̩rūḍhi̍ mā̩tra̍, |

having vi̩hāya̍ ̇d, - whi̩ch (is an) a̩nartha̍·maya̍ ā̍tma̩ dṛṣṭi̍ ‐ , ¦

to the mahā̍ ā̍tma̩ dṛṣṭi̍, śraya̍te ̇s, for (a) mahā̩ a̩rthā̍. || 14.37 ||

Kārikā Aṣṭātriṃśā

Witho̍ut (an) ā̍tma̩ dṛṣṭi̍!, he̩ whom in thi̍s world, (is an) ā̍tma̩ ̇s dṛṣṭi̍ ¦

witho̩ut; mo̩reover, by duḥkha̍ ̇ng, (is) the su̩duḥkhi̍ta ̇ng also̩. |

Is eve̩ry a̩rtha ̇s kartā̍, no̩t also̍ (a) kāra̩ kāṅkṣi̍n ̇ng; ¦

which manne̩r, from the ā̩tma̍n, for svātma̩ hita̍ ̇s, having been kṛtvā̍ ̇d! || 14.38 ||

Kārikā Navatriṃśā

He who̩m, (is) mukta̍ ̇d (and) citta̍ ̇d, by pa̩rayā̍, by vi̩muktyā̍; ¦

(is) ba̩ddha̍ ̇d also̩, by (a) gāḍha̍ ̇ly ā̍yata̩ ̇ng bandha̍na̩. |

Of duḥkha̍, for parya̩nta̍, the a̩paśya̍ ̇ng mā̩na̍, ¦

(tis) pra̩yujya̍te ̇d, also̩ like tha̍t; (it) karo̍ti ̇s, also̩ in thi̍s way. || 14.39 ||

Kārikā Catvāriṃśā

For sva̩ duḥkha̍, to u̩dvoḍhu̍m, in thi̩s wo̍rld, (tis an) a̍sa̩martha̍. ¦

The loka̍, from whe̩re, (tis) for piṇḍi̍ta ̇ng, othe̩rwise, for duḥkha̍. |

For janma̩ e̩ka̍, ā̩loka̍ya̩te ̇s, indeed, the a̩cinta̍ ̇ble. ¦

From the vipa̩ryaya̍, of tha̩t, in soo̍th, (is) the bodhi̩sattva̍. || 14.40 ||

Kārikā Ekacatvāriṃśā

Wherefo̍re prema̩, whi̍ch (is) vatsa̩latā̍, (tis) the pra̩yoga̍, ¦

in these sa̩ttva̍ ̇s; (tis an) a̩kheda̍ also̩, for the jina̍ ā̍tma̩ jānā̍ ̇ng. |

Asto̩nishi̍ngly, thi̩s (is), for the para̍ma̩, in these bhava̍ ̇s. ¦

No̩t a̍lso, in thi̩s way, (tis) for sattva̍ ā̍tma̩ ̇s sama̍, from a̩bhāva̍. || 14.41 ||

Bhāvanā ca Mārgo, Dvividha Jñānam

Kārikā Dvācatvāriṃśā

Therefro̍m, tha̩t, bhāva̍nā̩, on the mārga̍, ¦

in those pari̩śiṣṭa̍, upon these bhū̩mi̍, |

of jñāna̍, of dvi̩·vidha̍, in thi̩s world, ¦

for bhāva̍nā, (is) pra̩yujya̍te ̇d. || 14.42 ||

Kārikā Trayaścatvāriṃśā

The nirvi̩kalpa̍ also, tha̩t jñāna̍, ¦

(tis), for one of buddha̩ dharma̍ who vi̩śodha̍ka ̇s. |

Othe̩rwise, which ma̍nner, the vyava̩sthāna̍, ¦

of these sa̩ttva̍ ̇s, (tis) for pari̩pāca̍ka. || 14.43 ||

Kārikā Catuścatvāriṃśā

These bhāva̍nā̩ ̇s a̩yā̍ ̇ng, also ni̩ryāṇa̍ ̇ng, ¦

the dvi, shall be a̩saṅkhye̍ya ̇ble, fu̩lly gra̍sped; i̩t (is), |

to the paści̍mā̩ bhāva̍nā̩, having etya̍ ̇d, ¦

is the bodhi̩sattva̍ abhi̩ṣikta̍ka ̇d. || 14.44 ||

Kārikā Pañcacatvāriṃṣā

For the vajra̩ u̩pama̍, for samā̩dhāna̍, ¦

for the vi̩kalpa̍ a̍bhedya̩, having etya̍ ̇d also̩, |

the niṣṭhā̍, (tis) for the ā̍śraya̩ pa̍rā̩vṛtti̍ ̇ng, ¦

for sarva̩ ā̩vara̍ṇa ni̩rmalā̍. || 14.45 ||

Kārikā Ṣaṭcatvāriṃśā

For the sarva̍ ā̍kāra̩ jñatā̍, also, in thi̩s way, ¦

(one) labha̍te ̇s, the anu̩ttara̍ pada̍. |

In which, the stha̍, of sarva̩ sattva̍ ̇s, ¦

for hi̩ta, (doth) prati̩padya̍te. || 14.46 ||

Avavāda Māhā Ātma

Kārikā Saptacatvāriṃśā

Pray te̩ll, that manne̍r, within (a) du̩rlabha̍ darśa̩na̍, in the muni̍, ¦

ought bha̩ve̍t (a) mahā̩ a̩rtha̍; for (tis) no̩t inde̍ed, (a) nitya̩ darśa̍na, |

to a high degre̍e, from (a) samā̩pyāyi̍ta̩ ̇d ceta̍s, alwa̩ys, ¦

with these pra̩sāda̍ ̇s (and) ve̩ga̍ ̇s, with these a̩sama̍ śrava̩ u̩dbhava̍ ̇s. || 14.47 ||

Kārikā Aṣṭācatvāriṃśā

Having a̍codya̩ ̇d, the māna̍, consta̩ntly, a̍nd towa̩rds one's se̍lf, ¦

that manne̩r, with these gata̍ ̇s, in the dharma̩ sukha̍, (is one) vyava̩sthita̍. |

Having ni̍gṛhya̩ ̇d, in these keśa̍ ̇s, like that, the doṣa̩ ga, (tis) from the va̍ra̩. ¦

Having ni̍kṛṣya̩ ̇d, in the bodhi̍, (is) he̩, from bala̍, ni̩veśya̍te ̇d. || 14.48 ||

Kārikā Navacatvāriṃśā

O̍ne (is) for the sarva̩ loka̍, with these su̩vi̍śuddha̩ darśa̍na̩ ̇s, ¦

with these a̍kalpa̩ bodha̍ ̇s; having abhi̩bhūya̍ ̇d, every ma̩nner, |

to the mahā̍ a̍ndha̩ kāra̍, vidha̩maya̍; bhā̩sa̍te ̇s, ¦

for jaga̍t, (a) mahā̩ ā̩ditya̍, li̩ke tha̍t, from a̍tyu̩dāra̍. || 14.49 ||

Śeṣaṅ Gata Artham

Kārikā Pañcāśā

These buddha̍ ̇s, to sa̩mya̍k pra̩śaṃsā̍, ˰ (doth one) vi̩da̍dhati̩, alwa̍ys, ˰ in svā̩rtha̍ sa̩mya̍k pra̩yukta̍ ̇d. ¦

For nindā̍, (tis) the īrṣyā̍, in being pra̩yukta̍ ̇d, ˰ in sthiti̩ ̇ng vi̍caya̩ (of a) para̍, ˰ a̩nd for these a̩ntarā̍ya anu̩kūla̍ ̇s. |

For dharma̍ ̇s, for these sa̩rva̍ pra̩kāra̍ ̇s, ˰ in the ri̩ght manne̍r, here̩, these jina̍ ̇s ˰ (are) darśa̩ya̍nti ̇d, amongst the agra̩ ̇st of sattva̍ ̇s. ¦

For they who̩m, in (a) varjya̍ ̇d, ‐ having a̍sevya̩ ̇d ‐, yoga̍, ˰ bha̩va̍ti ̇s the vi̩pulatā̍, ˰ in the sa̩ugata̍, upon the śāsa̩na̍ ̇ng, on thi̩s. || 14.50 ||

Nigama Śloka, Gata Artha

Kārikā Ekapañcāśā

Thus so̩, alwa̍ys, (tis) the śubha̩ ā̩caya̍ pra̩pūrṇa̍ ̇d. ¦

For (a) suvi̩pula̍, having go̩ne to̍, he̩, from ceta̍s, (is) to sa̩mādhi̍. |

The muni̩, consta̍ntly, the mahā̩ a̩va̍vāda̩ labdha̍ ̇ng, ¦

bha̩va̍ti ̇s, ‐ the guṇa̩ a̩rṇa̍va ̇s pāra̩ ga̍ ̇ng ‐, (an) agra̩ ̇st sattva̍. || 14.51 ||
