The basket three fold, for duality, or ¦¦

from fully grasping, with these principles, by novis monks, tis cherished. |

By mental·impressions perceptions and tranquility ¦¦

insights, therefore, tis caused increasing liberation. || 11.1 ||


Kārikā Dvitīyā

Upon A Fundamental Inquiry (2)

These sūtra abhidharma vow's of discipline, ¦¦

the catur vidha path, these perceptions, by aggregate assemblage; |

of those, from knowing, the one of wisdom, ¦¦

to every form of learning, doth go. || 11.2 ||


Kārikā Tṛtīyā

Upon A Fundamental Inquiry (3)

From fundamental nature, from characteristic mark, ¦¦

from dharma, from skillful means, and from teaching, tis the sūtra. |

From (being) manifest face to face, moreover, from continuous repetition, ¦¦

from an inferiority manner of going , tis the abhidharma also. || 11.3 ||


Kārikā Caturthā

Upon A Fundamental Inquiry (4)

From downfall, from standing up, ¦¦

from more standing up, of going forth, and for discipline, |

from the pudgala, from insightful engagement, ¦¦

from the distinction without doubt also, tis in this way. || 11.4 ||

For foundation, tis apprehending dharma. ¦

For supreme essence, tis the external duality. |

In apprehending both, by two sorts of skillful means, ¦

tis in two parts, and also, from non·apprehension. || 11.5 ||

With these thought conversations, which manner, tis of a speaking art ¦

most clear, from the preserving, |

of a way of knowledge, from discourse, and, ¦

The dharma's fundamental ground apprehending, ought be, ¦

by three wisdoms, teachings foremostly; |

with conversation, without conversation; like that, and |

The fully divided supporting, also that one, ¦

the scattered sustaining, it and, |

The four, -the thirty seven also‐, ¦

are form, contemplation, ways of going, |

the path of dual self nature; this one, ¦

The applicable, the motivation staying also, ¦

tis limited, the unlimited forming the nature thereof. |

Of these yogis, indeed, the mental construct, ¦

Kārikā Trayodaśā

Upon a Dharma's Subtle Element Enquiry

The suchness, that which, constantly, by duality, is separating; ˰ from wavering, also, is fully to take refuge. ¦

To be empowered, tis not, like that also, in every manner, to discursive chatter; ˰ whence also, to a non·proliferation of mental constructs by it's nature. |

Shall be understood, to be abandoned, moreover, to be purified, to be unstained; ˰ wherefore also, tis by an irreducible first principle, for thought. ¦

Of which the ākāśa element, gold, and water are in similarity; ˰ from impurity, tis an expanding complete virtue, the consciousness. || 11.13 ||


Kārikā Caturdaśā

Upon a Dharma's Subtle Element Enquiry (2)

Naught, indeed, 'mongst mankind, tis from that; ˰ be known, anything, moreover. ¦

For the world, thereto, tis thus so unceasing; ˰ therein, a fully confused perception. |

Pray tell, tis this one, ascended; ˰ the world's lethargic manner. ¦

That which, is untrue, entered into; ˰ from truth circled around, having become expanded. || 11.14 ||

Kārikā Pañcadaśā

Upon Suchness, the Māyā, an Uppermost Enquiry

Which manner, is māyā; that manner, a non·existent ¦

shimmering illusion, tis expressed. |

Which manner, the māyā, is manifesting; like that, ¦

the duality's wavering, tis explained. || 11.15 ||


Kārikā Ṣoḍaśā

Upon Suchness, the Māyā, an Uppermost Enquiry (2)

Which manner, in that, tis not thus so existence; ¦

the higher truth's method, in that way, tis sought after. |

Which manner, of that, is sensory perception; verily, ¦

that manner, tis conventional wisdom's truthfulness. || 11.16 ||


Kārikā Saptadaśā

Upon Suchness, the Māyā, an Uppermost Enquiry (3)

Thus so, in a non·existence, whereof, is visible appearance; ¦

that!, of being the characteristic mark, tis so grasped. |

That manner, tis in the non·conceptual awareness, ¦

of the unreal shimmering object, so grasped. || 11.17 ||


Kārikā Āṣṭādaśā

Upon Suchness, the Māyā, an Uppermost Enquiry (4)

That, in the characteristic mark, which manner, tis the world; ¦

verily, the unwavering one, intentionally, ought wander. |

In the turning away, the non·turning around, tis for it. ¦

The one who moves freely at will, that manner, is the master. || 11.18 ||


Kārikā Navadaśā

Upon Suchness, the Māyā, an Uppermost Enquiry (5)

Thus so, intense action, also therein, exists. ¦

Thus so, is the existence, also, not comprehended. |

From that, is the existence of non existence, ¦

in these māyā ̇s primarily, so encompassed. || 11.19 ||


Kārikā Viṃśā

Upon Suchness, the Māyā, an Uppermost Enquiry (6)

Not the existence, therefore, (tis) also the non·existence. ¦

Not the non·existence, (tis) the existence like that also. |

The existence (and) non·existence without attribute, also, ¦

in these māyās primarily, tis encompassed. || 11.20 ||

Upon Suchness, the Māyā, an Uppermost Enquiry (7)

That manner, the dualities appearance, herein, exists; ¦

so also, the existence, tis also, not understood. |

From that, befullness and not·befullness, ¦

in these shapes foremostly, tis encompassed. || 11.21 ||

Neither the existence, therefore, is also nonexistence, ¦

nor the nonexistence, is existence, like that; and, |

the existence·nonexistence without attribute, also, ¦

in these shapes foremostly, tis encompassed. || 11.22 ||

The superimposition of a self nature refutation like ¦

negation method, is to be sought after. |

With the hīnayāna, of vehicles, ¦

the negation method, tis like that, also. || 11.23 ||

From wavering, for a characteristic mark, ˰ the wandering also, ¦

the form of pure consciousness, tis sought after. |

Formless also, is pure consciousness; ¦

from non·existence, perhaps, not also different from. || 11.24 ||

Upon Suchness, the Māyā, an Uppermost Enquiry (11)

Māyā tis, –like of an elephant's strong effort grasping ¦

and wavering–, to duality taken up. |

A duality, therein, which manner, doth not exist. ¦

The duality, also, in this way, tis completly grasped. || 11.25 ||

A reflected image of it's elements fully gathered together, holding ¦

from wavering, tis to duality taken up. |

A duality, therein, which manner so, doth not exist. ¦

The duality, also, in this way, tis fully grasped. || 11.26 ||

Upon Suchness, the Māyā, an Uppermost Enquiry (13)

That manner from existence, tis that manner from nonexistence; ¦

existence and nonexistence especially. |

These truths and untruths, moreover, are māyā reflecting. ¦

Those two are, the dharma bearer's wavering characterizing. || 11.27 ||

That manner from nonexistence! that manner from nonexistence! ¦

that manner from nonexistence!, are these signless unmeasurables, |

these māyās of highest measure; and, tis pointed out, ¦

those which, the dharmas so oppose. || 11.28 ||

Māyā, the King, like that, also tis with another. ¦

Māyā, by a king, tis a subjugated one. |

They who, all these dharma ̇s, ˰ do observe. ¦

Without hindurance, are they, victorious nature born. || 11.29 ||

Māyā, like those dream mirage reflected images most similar, ˰ tis a reflected image reverbration on highest; ¦

The six, the six two fold, and again also, the six pair consciousness, ˰ one by one, and three fold; ¦

these mental constructs, verily, anywhere and everywhere, were taught, ˰ by those buddhas, by those awakend on highest ones. || 11.30 ||

An unliving vibration, is not the person of wisdom, ¦

not the non living being, a non vibration, certainly, also. |

Tis not the vibration, not thereto also, the non vibration, ¦

A self forming group of elements, like a duality so appearing, ¦

The supporting characteristic so acquired, ¦

tis from the self forming group of elements abiding conjoined. |

It is, in this way, indeed, these unique appearing, ¦

abide, like a shield with arrows. || 11.33 ||

Upon Awareness and the Object's Quintessence, an Enquiry

Cognition, tis for duality's splendour. ¦¦

For passionate feeling's highest mental state, tis desired, like that. |

For faith's highest mental state, tis not thus so. ¦¦

Different from the dharma, an afflicted one suitable is. || 11.34 ||

Upon Awareness and the Object's Quintessence, an Enquiry (2)

Which manner, tis from duality ̇s appearance, ¦

moreover, tis not the duality expressing; |

like that, cognition, to an astonishing mental appearance, ¦

to an astonishing creation, churns onward. || 11.35 ||

The object of attention, and the sign also, in this way, ¦

tis a metaphoric inference also, from the separation. |

The compassion promoting way, ˰ of these truths, ¦

with fully awakened ones, tis a full resplendence. || 11.36 ||

Upon the Characteristic Sign, an Enquiry (2)

For one with false views, also whence, tis thought; ¦

therein, is the steadiness altered. |

The object of attention, tis this, by a thrown together aggregation; ¦

indeed, tis the lack of a measure, from the separation. || 11.37 ||

Upon the Characteristic Sign, an Enquiry (3)

Which manner, is the argumentive discourse's mode of perception, ¦

the characteristic mark, of that, tis a mental impression. |

From that, moreover, the way of an object's appearance, ¦

tis a misperception's mark. || 11.38 ||

Which manner, is a name's method; of the method, ¦

from the name, is perception also; which, |

for the lack of a full existence to measure, indeed, ¦

tis a misperception's mark. || 11.39 ||

The triple fold three kinds of emanating appearance, ¦

the graspable and grasper category, |

the unliving shimmering illusion, verily, ¦

(are) of an other dependent mental perception, for characteristic. || 11.40 ||

The nonbeing of beingness, she whom, also, ¦

tis an existence of nonexistence equivalence. |

Discontent and contentment, ˰ being unmanifest, also, ¦

tis a perfected insight consciousness characteristic. || 11.41 ||

Upon the Characteristic Sign, an Enquiry (7)

For a slackened dharma, having supported, ¦

thoroughly, in the mind, is the performance. |

Of the cognition, in fundament, ˰ for a firm foundation also, ¦

true and untrue, is a way of observation. || 11.42 ||


Kārikā Trayaścatvāriṃśā

Upon the Characteristic Sign, an Enquiry (8)

Equanimity attaining, tis in that, ¦

not the noble lineage, verily, for tis without blemish. |

The equipoise remaining characteristic, is for those complete ones. ¦

Too often, tis a context dependent inference, the consciousness. || 11.43 ||

Upon Liberation, an Enquiry (1)

The foundation method of form's appearance ¦

turning around, tis an unstained pure path. |

The fundament, from the seed turning around, ¦

it also, all pervading, is the ground of being. || 11.44 ||


Kārikā Pañcacatvāriṃśā

Upon Liberation, an Enquiry (2)

Four fold, is the mastery, of the turns of life, ¦

from the mind, and the uplifting also, and |

of the mental construct, in being without thought, assuredly, ¦

in the field of knowledge, moreover, in the mastery of deeds. || 11.45 ||


Kārikā Ṣaṭcatvāriṃśā

Upon Liberation, an Enquiry (3)

In the unwavering foremost three stages, also, ¦

the mastery, she is four fold. |

Two ways, are in one, therefore, in another; ¦

tis one on one, the mastery, the perception. || 11.46 ||

Having understood the self's insubstaniality, ˰ are two parts here, the man of wisdom, the cyclic existence manner of going. ¦

To equanimity, that also, having known, ˰ doth enter he unto suchness, from the obtaining. |

From that, therefore, from a firm foundation, ˰ of thought, here, not doth one extoll, thus so, thereto, ¦

in this manner, non·perception, is the liberation, ˰ of highest perceiving, tis the cessation. || 11.47 ||

In the comprehension, from the gathering into a collection, ˰ ¦

upon much putting therein, tis for mindfulness, indeed, the name's matrix, observing. |

One beholds, indeed, the name's construct. ˰ ¦

That seeing, that also not, in this way, beholds one, the stuff of existence. || 11.48 ||

Upon Liberation, an Enquiry (6)

Thought, this, with latent karmic afflictions, ¦

tis to an egoic self appearance so bound. |

Continues onward the cessation, in sooth; ¦

thus so, from highest self abiding, is the consciousness. || 11.49 ||

One's 'Self', by self, by soul, from nonexistence, ¦

in self existence, and from not being steadfast, |

for the one grasping then, ˰ from existence also, ¦

tis a lack of self existence sought after. || 11.50 ||

For a non self·nature, tis the psychic empowerment, ¦

these higher better refuge resources, |

the unmanifest, the unceasing, also ¦

the highest tranquility, complete cessation. || 11.51 ||

In the beginning, in suchness, in otherness, ¦¦

in the self characteristic, itself, but another manner, in existence, |

in complete affliction, else, in quintessence, ¦¦

calm endurance, tis non·arising of dharma 'twas said. || 11.52 ||


Upon A Single Vehicle, an Enquiry

Upon a Single Vehicle, an Enquiry (1)

Of these dharmas without self nature the emancipation, ¦

from similatude, from the lineage division, |

from two lasting impressions perfected, also from being without measure, ¦

from the epitome's edge, tis a single vehicle. || 11.53 ||


Kārikā Catuḥpañcāśā

Upon a Single Vehicle, an Enquiry (2)

For the strongly attracting way, of these singularities, ¦

another, for full mindfulness again, |

of those declared uncertain, assuredly, ¦

with these fully awakened ones, tis a single vehicle. || 11.54 ||


Kārikā Pañcapañcāśā

Upon a Single Vehicle, an Enquiry (3)

The listener is uncertain, in two ways, ¦

from a seen and unseen skillful means vehicle. |

The visible way, the enjoying of life's passion, and ¦

a dis·impassioned passion also, that is more subtle. || 11.55 ||


Kārikā Ṣaṭpañcāśā

Upon a Single Vehicle, an Enquiry (4)

Those two are also, of attaining a most noble path, ¦

in these cyclic rebirths, from a transference of merit. |

With a thoughtless mirage like appearance, ¦

by the appearing, are those two fully understood. || 11.56 ||

Upon a Single Vehicle, an Enquiry (5)

From an aspiration's strength, for the unity ¦

appearing, doth one stride forth. |

The one, who is a non·returner, from yoga, ¦

with these immeasurables, doth stride back around. || 11.57 ||


Kārikā Aṣṭāpañcāśā

Upon a Single Vehicle, an Enquiry (6)

From the motionless consciousness contentment, and ¦

those two dull conditions, in the contemplative intellect; |

again, again, tis of a self consciousness, ¦

from the fully elevated practice of yoga. || 11.58 ||


Kārikā Navapañcāśā

Upon a Single Vehicle, an Enquiry (7)

It, the unmanifest way, indeed, in being unawakened, and ¦

arising, for a meditation method, tis exalted. |

An immeasurable longing, therefore, having recourse to; ¦

for the final beatitude, for awakened consciousness, doth one grasp to attain. || 11.59 ||

The Mentress, as Firm Foundation, an Enquiry

The mentress, in abiding, ˰ in the five worship, for yoga, having not done so, ¦

for an all knowingness; ˰ not like that, by any means, (is) the most pious buddhist. |

Just so, other than of these, ˰ tis for the subduing practising, ¦

the self knowledge way going; ˰ therein, makes, like that, he, for yoga practice. || 11.60 ||

Upon The Foundation's Maturation Enquiry (1)

The cause for the appearance of contentment, and ¦

a refuge, therefore, tis a cherished recollection, |

with a strongly bearing fruition's fervent seeking also; ¦

which manner, tis a knowledge dedicated intent. || 11.61 ||


Kārikā Dvaṣaṣṭā

Upon The Foundation's Maturation Enquiry (2)

The four divisions, by sensory experience: ¦

the rapturous, the lassitude's doubt, |

in adversity's argument, in the counter argument also, ¦

the practice, tis four fold. || 11.62 ||


Kārikā Trayaḥṣaṣṭā

Upon The Foundation's Maturation Enquiry (3)

The sacred offering, tis the expectation; also, ¦

the giver, tis the intention; in another life, also, |

the bodhisattva's vow, tis for aspiration; and ¦

for the delight of pure consciousness, is the yoga of purification. || 11.63 ||


Kārikā Catuḥṣaṣṭā

Upon The Foundation's Maturation Enquiry (4)

In śakti obtaining, that time, tis for eagerness. ¦

In generosity, at first, six fold, tis the wealth. |

In ripening to perfection, moreover, in the affrimation of vows, ¦

in devotion to another, tis the empathy. || 11.64 ||


Kārikā Pañcaṣaṣṭā

Upon The Foundation's Maturation Enquiry (5)

In the undone, in the badly done, tis shame. ¦

For remorse, upon an object of sense, tis attachment. |

The hostile perception, ˰ in lassitude also, ¦

composing a thought, tis the intellect. || 11.65 ||


Kārikā Ṣaṭṣaṣṭā

Upon The Foundation's Maturation Enquiry (6)

Generosity foremostly, tis for reliance, ¦

upon a perfectly awakened knowledge, not a supreme being primarily. |

Of faults, and of guṇa attributes also, ¦

the complete sensory experience, tis of this pair. || 11.66 ||


Kārikā Saptaṣaṣṭā

The aggregation recollecting joyfulness, ¦

tis of a great meaning, also, for the appearance. |

In yoga, the desire, tis in being without thought; ¦

thus so, in a firmness, upon the ripened causal seed's arriving near. || 11.67 ||

In seven manner, ˰ t'was, in seizing hold ¦

the rising up, a śakti power's appearance. |

Astonishingly, also moreover, unastonishingly, ¦

the full knowledge matrix, tis also like that, a four fold division. || 11.68 ||

Equanimity, in every sentient being, ¦

beholding, also thereto, a great spiritual nature, |

the virtue of benevolent reciprocal action, ¦

From Buddha guided ˰ spiritual practice, ¦

from turning towards impermanence perception, |

that way, by increase within, ˰ in these pure beings, ¦

In having a false view, ˰ in existing, ¦

in realization also, tis not lusterless. |

Not endurance of mental construct, ¦

In extending out, from appearance, the variations of ¦

consciousness, sameness is the observation, |

From maturation, from first inclination, ¦¦

those two great things, an examination tis sought after, in insightful comprehension. |

tis, in that manner, just so, belonging to the awakened nature, of those. || 11.74 ||

Wavering embodiment, active embodiment, ¦¦

very complete embodiment also, of bodhisattvas, |

these many opinioned subtle notions, ¦¦

are immeasurable, and seeking the imagined. || 11.75 ||

tis the characteristic cause; that manner, just so, also the fitness. |

In being masterful, with these intuitive cognitions, ¦¦

thus so, in inexhaustability, tis also, of Buddhas. || 11.76 ||

Tis oneness -separately- the self attribute of vibrations. |
